KETO Cabbage Staple


 

We know there are a ton of options out there for cabbage recipes - this one is tried and tested for 20+ years. It's an instant go to for events, lazy weeknights or anytime we want something delicious and easy. ENJOY!

 

Ingredients:


  • 1 Head of Purple Cabbage, thinly sliced

  • 1 Pack of Nitrate free Bacon, cut into slices

  • 1/2 C Diced Onion

  • 2 T Duck Fat

  • 1/4 Lemon


Directions:


In a pan over medium/low heat, heat a drizzle of Avocado oil. Add Onions and sautee until translucent. Add Sliced back on and cook until crispy. Add Duck fat until melted.

Sprinkle the Purple Cabbage on top and using tongs, mix well making sure to coat the cabbage with the bacon fat and duck fat. Cover and let cook until cabbage is soft.


Finish with freshly squeezed lemon and S&P to taste.


OPTIONAL*** Add 1/2 C of Red Wine and reduce (OMG!!)

Add 1/2 C Bone Broth and Simmer until most the liquid is cooked off or absorbed

Add 2 Sausages sliced up at the same time as Bacon
